DeepSeek published first usage numbers on November 5, 2026

DeepSeek disclosed daily active user data for Harness on the evening of November 5, 2026 local time (via WeChat announcement), marking the first official usage figures since the agentic AI platform launched August 13. According to TechNode ↗, as of November 4, Harness reached 1.54 million daily active users counting users accessing its official API, processing approximately 92 trillion tokens per day.

Yicai Global ↗ published a growth timeline sourced from the WeChat disclosure:

  • 271,000 DAU (week ended September 30)

  • 429,000 DAU (week ended October 7)

  • 1.54 million DAU (November 4)

The desktop app launched September 29, two months after the initial v0.1 release.

The team also revealed that approximately 35,000 third-party plugins are now available, with roughly 60% of active users having created or installed at least one plugin. DeepSeek plans to improve plugin API stability and security, build an official plugin marketplace, and launch a creator support program with token incentives, according to the TechNode report.

DeepSeek referenced a "super-agent" design in an October 31 WeChat note, describing multi-task continuous agents capable of executing longer-horizon workflows — context that frames the marketplace roadmap, though implementation details remain unspecified.

Our take: who should care

Teams evaluating agent harnesses: if you are comparing Claude Code, Kimi Hosted Agents, LangChain stacks, or AutoGPT-style frameworks, the DAU disclosure gives the first public usage anchor for Harness. The 1.54M figure is vendor-reported and scoped to official-API users — DeepSeek has not published independent verification or self-hosted / local-model breakouts.

Plugin ecosystem builders: the 35,000-plugin count and 60% adoption rate signal an active third-party ecosystem, but discovery and security tooling remain informal until the marketplace and creator program ship. If you are building plugins today, expect API breaking changes as the team stabilizes the interface.

DeepSeek API users: the 92 trillion tokens per day figure is enormous in aggregate. DeepSeek attributes this to Harness API traffic; we have not independently verified per-user consumption or concurrent session limits. Do not reverse-engineer per-user math from the aggregate — the distribution may be heavily skewed.

The desktop app arrived only five weeks before this disclosure. Fast DAU growth from late September through early November tracks typical agent-platform early adoption, but calendar effect (launch hype vs sustained retention) will only resolve over the next quarter.
