ElevenLabs and Murf AI make spoken voice from text. Suno and Udio make songs. Play.ht was a fifth voice tool and no longer resolves to a website, so it is listed below as discontinued.
If you plan to publish or sell what you make, check the plan's rights line before the tool's features. ElevenLabs lists a commercial licence from its $6 Starter plan up and nothing for the free plan. Suno's free plan says "No commercial rights" and its $8 Pro plan, billed yearly, includes them.

ElevenLabs plans on monthly billing, from its pricing page, checked 15 October 2026.
Murf's pricing page opens on its API tab, and that is the part we could read. A new account gets $10 of free API calls. After that its Falcon voice model costs $0.01 per 1,000 characters and its studio-quality Gen 2 model $0.03 per 1,000 characters. A 10,000-character script costs $0.10 on Falcon and $0.30 on Gen 2. Voice changing is $0.10 a minute and translation $0.02 per 1,000 characters. We could not read Murf's Studio plan prices, so none are quoted here.

The two services count credits differently, so the credit totals do not compare. On rights, Suno's page states them per plan. Udio's plan cards list no commercial-use line, so read Udio's terms before you release a track made there.
Play.ht is gone
On 15 October 2026 play.ht answered a DNS lookup with no address record, so there is no site to visit, and its name servers belong to Facebook. Meta acquired PlayAI, the company behind Play.ht, in July 2025 (TechCrunch, 13 July 2025). Migration guides report that the service closed on 31 December 2025. We found no notice from either company, so treat the closing date as reported and unconfirmed. Ignore any review that still prices it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use AI-generated music commercially?
On Suno, yes from the Pro plan: its free plan says "No commercial rights" and Pro and Premier list commercial use rights. Udio's plan cards list no commercial-use line, so read its terms first.
Does the free ElevenLabs plan include a commercial licence?
ElevenLabs' pricing page lists the commercial licence from the Starter plan, which is $6 a month, and not on the free plan. The free plan gives 10,000 credits a month.
How much does AI text to speech cost?
ElevenLabs plans run from free to $990 a month (Business), with a custom Enterprise plan above that; Scale is $299. Murf's API charges $0.01 per 1,000 characters on Falcon and $0.03 on Gen 2, so a 10,000-character script costs $0.10 or $0.30.
What happened to Play.ht?
Play.ht no longer resolves to a website, and its DNS is now run by Facebook's name servers. Meta acquired PlayAI, the company behind it, in July 2025, and migration guides report the service closed on 31 December 2025. We found no official notice.
Is there a free AI music generator?
Suno's free plan gives 50 credits a day but no song downloads and no commercial rights. Udio's gives 100 credits a month, 10 a day.
